TEC EQUIPMENT
Office Signage & Wayfinding
OVERVIEW
TEC Equipment is the leading full-service truck and trailer dealership with over 35 locations. With the rapid growth of the company, the project goal was to create consistent building and wayfinding signage to align seamlessly with the visual identity of the TEC brand for all new and recently remodeled locations.
MY ROLE
Designed interior and exterior building signage. Worked with vendors to procure bids for fabrication and installation.
CREDITS
In collaboration with Alma Munoz. Her expertise and creative contributions were invaluable to the project's success.
exterior wall sign
TEC Equipment embodies a branded-house strategy, where every product and service seamlessly aligns under a single, overarching brand identity. While the main logo typically adorns all company-owned buildings, occasional circumstances arise where there is a need to highlight one of the company's nine business divisions. In such cases, the addition of a horizontal bar beneath the logo serves to spotlight TEC’s business divisions exclusively.
interior wall sign
Inside, raised Aluminum DIBOND® logo signs were installed in the foyer, visible from the entryway. Their sleek and modern aesthetic enhanced the visitor experience.
interior wall sign – conference rooms
Acrylic-style logo signs, mounted raised off the wall, were installed in larger conference rooms. These signs were enhanced with a silver matte vinyl overlay on the acrylic. The logo was cut out of the overlay, creating a clear window and achieving an elegant etched glass effect for added sophistication.
GLASS DOOR DECALS
All customer-facing entrances were branded with the TEC logo and displayed operating hours. In some cases, the respective business division was highlighted beneath the logo or on the right-side door in cases where double doors were present.
INTERIOR WAYFINDING SIGNAGE
The interior wayfinding signage was in need of a revamp. While still pulling cues from the existing system, we wanted to correct a few things in terms of placement, fonts, and icons. In order to keep this system harmonized with the foyer signage, we kept the materials the same. The signage we proposed is consistent with the visual character of the brand, its color scheme, and complements the modern interior. The typeface appearing in the new system is directly taken from the company branding. We also designed a set of pictograms inspired by the logo.
GLASS WINDOW FROST
In the design of the office spaces, we carefully integrated three tiers of privacy, each featuring varying levels of window frosting. Additional layers of frosting were introduced at every tier, with level 3 offering the highest degree of privacy. This frosting served a dual purpose – ensuring privacy while also minimizing the risk of accidents. By strategically applying window frost in these varying levels, we effectively addressed the problem without sacrificing the visual openness of the workspace.
